Having only shown off their two new tablets S and P (previously S1 and S2) at IFA in Berlin, Sony have now put the devices up for pre-order through their web stores, with an expected shipping date of September 16th.
The Sony Tablet S has a 9.4-inch Trublack display and runs on an 1GHz NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 CPU with 1GB RAM, 16 or 32 GB of storage (with an SD card slot for expansion) and Wi-Fi/3G connectivity. It comes with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), a 5-megapixel rear and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a Micro 2.0 port – all fitted snugly into its beautifully curved shell for 598 grams.
The Sony Tablet P has two 5.5″ Trublack displays and runs on a 1GHz NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 CPU with 512MB RAM, 4 GB of storage (with a MicroSD card slot for expansion) and Wi-Fi/3G connectivity. It comes with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), a 5-megapixel rear and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a Micro-USB port, and an SD card slot – all fitted into its interesting clamshell design for 372 grams.
